Working remote. Likes, dislikes and your thoughts
Ah yes, working remote as a dev. The number one topic for most devs and the number one question you get asked nearly every time you tell someone you’re a Dev. It usually starts out something like “you work remote, that must be awesome!” Well yes, it has its perks but there’s also downside depending on team communication. Let’s take this scenario. You’re working on a saas product and it’s a very tight knit group you function well face to face and over slack. You work from home and have the same slack channel up and can communicate to your team mates fast, productively and can usually get answers fast if you need them. So, in that instance it’s usually a good work remote situation you can do your work anywhere right? But what if you didn’t have slack and we’re working on a project for a client and you may or may not have communication with others or if you do they don’t work on that project so they wouldn’t understand an idea your bouncing off of them, personally these are the sink or swim situations that I’ve seen where you work your behind off to produce and it’s easier when you’re in constant focus. I think either situation gives you constant focus. I am curious what are some situations others have been in working remotely as a dev. Comment below
